Location: HOCP’s spring quarterly meeting will be held at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, approximately 1 hour east of Thunder Bay, ON. The Giant can be seen from the Thunder Bay waterfront but the views from the Giant are even more spectacular.
Agenda Overview: We’ll follow our usual meeting format, beginning Thursday afternoon, 1pm -5pm. After a catered dinner, our evening speaker will be naturalist and anthropologist Jon Nelson, speaking on “The People of the Quetico Area.” Friday morning we’ll continue our meeting until a closing lunch at noon. Agenda items will include highlights from the exciting progress of the Geotourism Initiative. We’ll also hear from folks on both sides of the border, summarizing where partnerships already exist, and where they are still needed. There will be a guided nature hike by the park staff. We’ll also see the video, “A Park for All Seasons.” In addition to the meeting and guest speakers, come prepared to get out and enjoy the hiking trails.
